Reception Dress!!

One problem I have encountered with my wedding dress is that its very hard to be graceful while dancing. I mean walking down the aisle, greeting people and pictures and everything will be fine. However swing dancing.... not so fine. I don't know if I could even do a waltz without Jon stepping on my dress at some point.

So I've always thought to myself it would be really nice if I had a dress I could change into during the reception that I could change into that I'll be able to dance the night away in. It just so happens- I bought that dress today.

It only cost me $8.49! Im sure some little chinese kid in a sweat shop is making it for that price- but bless ebay, I'll never know for sure.

Invitations! Kinda...

Me and Jon haven't been able to decide on a time to get married, he wants a picture I don't, and what we want the invitations to say- what I write is corny and what he writes sounds too impersonal- soooo we just decided to send out a "Reserve the date" card before its to late.

My friend Miya whipped these up for us:

They are amazing! I love them! Its almost the wedding colors I have decided on. Its like a light lime green and a dark chocolate brown- yay!

Now all I have to do is figure out the 75 people to send to out of the 112 =(

The wedding dress!

I told myself I wasn't going to go around boasting the new amazing dress I got but I can't help myself. I'm not going to post a picture up of it But if you want to look go ahead.

It was a little more expensive than what I was hoping for- but honestly, it was cheaper than the David's Bridal overly produced crap, and I couldn't bring myself to buy from one of the Chinese sweat shops on Ebay. I did find another dress at a small bridal shop that was 99 dollars, but it had lipstick stains on it. She said the alterations were about 50 and the cleaning was 135 and I had to sign somehting that said they do not promise to get all the stains out. So I said eff it and got a dress that I am going to feel amazing in. Plus, my teacher told me that she would teach me how to do alterations and would pin it for me and everything for free. Yay!

Also, the dress will be matched with this little number:

It needs a hair comb but I'm hoping to have my "something old" or "something borrowed" come from that. I wish I could make one myself but I can't find directions or a pattern any where.

Now all I need to do is worry about everyone else in the wedding...

We booked a date!!!

Well I am very excited because this was my first pick- I usually fall in love with the first thing that I see- but I figured it was going to be way too expensive. But I have looked at like 10 different places and the facility rental alone was 1000 dollars, some would come with the tables and linens and then we would have had to find a reception site and a DJ and everything... Well, my first pick the one I fell in love with- is the cheapest by far- plus it includes EVERYTHING!
I fell in love with it because of the Gazebo, and when we went to look today there were 2 different areas he had us look at, the Robin's Nest and the Lookout mountain. Both are within a mile of each other up in the mountains- the Robin's Nest is probably about half the size as the one at Lookout Mountain. But I liked how it looked there much better, and the ceremony is right over a lake in the mountains, and you get to see the city skyline- perfect!

So.... we are getting married September 3rd, 2009 !!!

Yay!!!

But I want it...

Yes, I have come to that ridiculous item that I am going to beg a plead for- probably won't be able to afford- and then turn into a bridezilla and throw a big temper tantrum because I can't have it.

It's a photobooth!!! Seriously couldn't you see a million pictures of this at my wedding:

I know I could.

If you are one of my close friends, or maybe not so close but we happened to go to a mall or bowling alley or arcade where they ad one of these babies- you have a photobooth picture with me. I really dunno what could be cooler then having that at my wedding... other then the awesome cake that I might convince Jon to let me have. But seriously, I'd spend half of my time there, taking pictures with everyone.
I just wonder how much that baby costs for 5 hours of rental time =\ I bet its well over 1000 bucks. Is it cool if no one eats at my reception?

Honeymoon Plans

I know its a little early to be settling on honeymoon plans when there isn't even an exact date for the wedding yet (we are thinking September 4th) - but, expedia is having some uber awesome deals right now that we just couldn't pass up. Seriously, if you want a vaca this year now is the time to look for stuff. We are going on a 7 day cruise around Europe, I really can't tell you how excited I am all for 1,600 per person and really thats usually how much the plane tickets are. Go us! Our honeymoon won't happen until October 3rd though, which really, how can you be sad about a late honeymoon when its something as awesome as seeing 4 different countries?! Exactly.

Flight There
Sat 3-Oct-09
Denver (DEN) Depart 9:55 am to Chicago (ORD) Arrive 1:15 pm
Chicago (ORD) Depart 4:40 pm to Madrid (MAD) Arrive 7:40 am +1 day
Sun 4-Oct-09
Madrid (MAD) Depart 9:30 am to Barcelona (BCN) Arrive 10:40 am

Okay, so there is a massive layover in Chicago, and then another connection flight in Madrid. However, its a good three and a half hours... and I dunno how close Threadless is to the Chicago airport, but I'm definitely going to make my best effort to go to the store and hopefully see Festa and the gang! Plus we arrive in Barcelona with over 8 hours to spare before the cruise- meaning lots of awesome running around time. I'll be tired, but in bliss.

Cruise Itinerary
Barcelona, Spain - departs 7:00 PM
 At sea
Valletta, Malta - 8:00 AM thru 3:00 PM
Naples, Italy - 8:00 AM thru 7:00 PM
Civitavecchia, Italy - 7:00 AM thru 7:00 PM
Livorno, Italy (Florence) - 7:00 AM thru 7:00 PM
Cannes, France - 7:00 AM thru 3:00 PM
 Barcelona, Spain- arrive 5:00 AM

Yes, that is right I am going to Spain, Italy and France!!!! I'm too stoked. I think Jon is most excited for Spain- for obvious reasons, but I am mos def excited for italy, and the fact we are going to 3 places in Italy makes my heart want to explode. I'm seriously considering learning Italian before we go. Obviously I won't be fluent in it, but at least have the basics down so I won't feel like such a bad tourist. And France- can't say it was ever my dream, but a different culture which is bomb-diggity. And I have no idea what Malta is, looks like a little island off of Italy, but other then that- no idea, anyone know?

Flight Home
Sun 11-Oct-09
Barcelona (BCN) Depart 9:25 am to Madrid (MAD) Arrive 10:35 am
Madrid (MAD) Depart 11:55 am to Chicago (ORD) Arrive 2:15 pm
Chicago (ORD) Depart 3:35 pm to Denver (DEN) Arrive 5:10 pm

Not so sure how excited I will be for the flight back, especially since there is yet another 2 connecting flights in Madrid and Chicago. At least they are both short so I won't be twiddling my thumbs for 4 hours in an airport. And there you have it- our amazing honeymoon- it's okay to be jealous.

Welcome!

This is Jon and I's wedding blog. I'm not really sure how many people will be reading this, but it will just have all the little updates on all of our plans for our wedding and what not. This is mostly for me, but also for friends and family who aren't going to be able to make it.

Thanks for looking! Hopefully there will be a lot to come ^_^
